Workpod 9: collective imagination

Ryan B. Coover is a creative and innovative architect whose work expresses a child-like purity that is infused with both sophistication and delight. Ryan combines his real world experience, diverse education, childhood memories and the quiet silence of his spirit to create new design perspectives that enhance his clients’ projects. He has spent 14 years developing his talents with firms in Salt Lake City, Dallas, and Austin before founding workpod 9: collective imagination in 2003.

Currently a member of the AIA Austin Executive Committee and represented as an artist by the Wally Workman Gallery, Ryan has lectured at The Center for American Architecture and Design, AIA Austin, and the National Bahá’í Center, Oahu, Hawaii. He has also been a visiting lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture.

Ryan received his B.S. in Architecture from the University of Utah and M. Arch from the University of Texas at Austin. He also studied architecture at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad, Denmark and researched at The Center for Architectural Structures and Technology, University of Manitoba, Canada. His work has been recognized both locally and internationally with design awards from AIA Dallas, Fabrics & Architecture, and the Hill Air Force Base in Utah. He practices in Austin, Texas.
