Bowen Residence

The site is a triangle lot with steep slopes, a golf course to the rear, and views overlooking the Logan Valley below. I walked the site and marked specific elevations to ensure that every room would have a view of the golf course. The design solution tucked a basement into the hillside and moved all major living spaces to the second story, high enough to see over the existing treetops. The views and activities of the golf course help animate the interiors and enhance the residents’ connection to their surroundings.
